Wooden Bead Trivets DIY

Here's a very simple DIY for you that can be done in a minute! These trivets made from wooden beads are inspired by beautiful Scandinavian designs and I love their simple and natural look. I made two trivets of different size for our new kitchen. They match just perfectly with the overall concept that I dreamed up for this room! The best thing: When not in use they will hang on the wall as a decorative element!

All you need are wooden beads (0.8''-1.2'' diameter) and sturdy cotton or jute twine.
Thread beads onto the twine until the trivet has the desired size (you can check the size by making a circle with the threaded beads). I used wooden beads with a diameter of 1 inch and used 14 and 18 beads for my trivets. When you're ready, form a circle and tie a tight knot with the ends of the twine. You can try to hide the ends of the twine, but I chose to leave some inches. I think it looks good.

And that's already it! A great idea would also be to paint some or all beads beforehand. I think one white or one neon pink bead would look great! Or one half colored and the other half natural? Please show me yours if you try it out!

  1. Hallo Kathie!
